Written by a Birth Mother: (Oct 2006)
I am looking for my son who I gave up for
adoption. He was born on December 15, 1981
at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor,
Maine. His name at birth was Michael Alan
Hathaway. I was living at a home called St.
Andre's, a place for unwed mothers. They
are the ones who also handled the adoption.
I was only 15 when I gave birth to him, and
I only wanted the best for him. I knew that
it was impossiable for me to do at that
time. He deserved so much more. Back in
1997 or so, I did get in contact with St.
Andre's and was coresponding with the
adoptive parents for awhile. They were so
kind to send me some pictures of him, the
first one I received was when he about 2 or
3 months old. His room was decorated with
animals from the movie "Bambi". And another
time they sent me more of him, I think he
was between the ages of 3-5. He was holding
a baseball bat in his hand. Such a handsome
little boy he is. I stopped coresponding
when they started asking about his "birth
father". I was afraid to let them know. And
that is why I am looking for him now. He
needs to know the truth. I want him to know
that I still Love him very much and that I
think of him everyday. He will always have
a special place in my heart forever. So. if
anyone can help me, please let him know
that I am looking for him. Thank you so
much. Tammy-birth mother
