Who are we?

FindMe.org started On March 1, 1997 after I had spent a few months adding my information to all the internet registries that I could find, to find my birth mother.

After searching so many registries, one thing I noticed is that many of the registries out there are complicated and unorganized. I had an idea to start my own registry, and vowed to make it as simple and easy to use as possible.

Little did I know, I had really gotten in over my head. I did not realize how quickly the page would get popular, and how many registries would come pouring in.

By May of 1997 , with my full time job, and doing this free registry as a hobby, I suddenly found myself swamped with more incoming registries than I could handle by myself; that's when Lynn offered to take over half the workload! :)

By Jan 1998 we had 2 volunteers helping to add registries, and we continued to grow until we were a team of 13. In the past 3 years we have had many great volunteers come and go, each of them dedicating their time and efforts.

FindMe is now a team of 6 people who check inquiries, answer email, and update our pages, all in their spare time. Without volunteers, FindMe.org wouldn't be where it is today.
